This February 2008, My dream came true, I had opportunity to visit Delhi, Agra and Fatepur Sikkri. And I took full advantage and roam these famous places and my camera just did not care to stop. To photograph these famous historical places, of the Mughal era is a beautiful and amazing experience. Gone are the days when you have to wait to know from your studio man to tell you, that only 5 of the 12 snap of a film roll had come good.
In the days of digital photography, the results are instant!
I set about to visit this fort at about noon time. A lot of foreign tourists and hordes of Delhi school children, along with few Indians I stepped in to this famous tourist attraction.
Wait a moment, just before entering this fort; I had this great chance to see that famous podium from where, on every 15Th august of each year, from Mr. Nehru to Dr. Singh delivered their false promises to the public of India. It is a great place indeed. You cant go there now due to security reasons.
This fort was built by Shah Jahan in the year 1639. With every subsequent occupier, it changed and some additions and some modifications were carried out. Till 2003, it was not fully open to public.
Lal Killa, The Red Fort- The Name Is obvious. It was made of Red Rajasthani stones and hence the name. You will come across the red stones structure in almost all monuments built by Mughals.
